Polia. Carola Bonfili. 15.04 – 26.07.2019

Polia is a project by Carola Bonfili specifically designed for the spaces of the Fondazione Baruchello. The work in the exhibition, composed of a sculptural group and a video, is inspired by the book “Hypnerotomachia Poliphili” (1499) and the ambiguous and polymorphic nature of its woodcuts, which illustrate the passages of Poliphilo’s dream and suggest different narratives and possible happenings within the same depiction. The soundtrack and audio project for the video Polia are by Francesco Fonassi. The project is part of Grand Tour Contemporaneo, a joint calendar of exhibitions and events dedicated to contemporary Italian art presented by the Contemporary Art Foundations Committee and spread throughout the territory. The program, conceived on the occasion of the 58th edition of the Venice Art Biennale, is developed through a proposal of solo and group exhibitions by established or emerging Italian artists, all of which will open on Monday, April 15, 2019.

Opening April 15, 2019, at the Baruchello Foundation at 35 Via del Vascello, Rome
